The Book of Esther:
Agagites and Modern Day Amalekites?

In my previous articles, I have discussed the controversial and prophetic nature of the Book of Esther. I have explained how the Lord titled this book, "Something Hidden", and then allowed controversies over it to arise repeatedly through out history to bring this writing to the forefront of religious thought. I have explained how Esther 9:12-13 contains a prophetic pattern which came to fulfillment when the Nazi war criminals were executed on October 16, 1946. I also demonstrated how Esther 9:13-15 contains another prophetic pattern by showing how it came to dramatic fulfillment during both the first and second Gulf Wars. But, now I would like to consider why the Lord hid these things in this particular book. My beliefs as to His intentions for doing this are very important for us today and extremely relevant to the next revelation that I wish to share :)

**********************************

The Book of Esther, in a nutshell, is basically about how the Lord works behind the scenes to protect His chosen people, the Jews. Think about this... Haman was an enemy who plotted the annihilation of the Jews. Adolph Hitler and his Nazi henchmen also attempted the complete erradication of the Jewish race. The complete genocide of David's descendants were the goal that both of these enemies were striving to accomplish! Then Saddam Hussein sent scud missiles into Israel to provoke her to war and as a consequence two wars have ruined his country and he and his sons are now dead. I believe that the Lord is pretty straight forward when He is teaching us something that is important to Him. Therefore, I believe that the reason He hid these prophetic patterns in this particular book is to underscore the basic lesson which He is demonstrating in this story; That He will always protect a remnant of His chosen people, The Jews.

To begin, I think it is very important to note that both Haman and the German Nazi's were Amalekites. Please read the following verses:

Esther 3:1
1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him. (KJV)

You will notice that in this verse, it states that Haman is an Agagite and not an Amalekite. But, an Agagite is a royal descendant of the Amalekites as verified in this verse:

1 Samuel 15:8
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. (ASV)

In my prior article, The Book of Esther: A Nazi Connection?, I explained the common held belief among modern Jewry that Haman's son, Porata, was the father of the German people. If this is true, that would make Adolph Hitler and the German people Amalekites as well!

So, why is this important? Because the Lord has a lot to say about how He feels about these people - and none of it is positive! This is what the Bible tells us about the Amalekites:

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
1

The LORD will have war with Amalek
from generation to generation.
2

Then Balaam saw Amalek and uttered his oracle:
"Amalek was first among the nations, but he will come to ruin at last." 3

When the LORD your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!
4

Whew! The Lord has some very strong things to say about the Amalekites! The Amalekites have always been the enemy of the Jews and they have always plotted to utterly destroy them. No wonder the Lord feels so strongly about them!

So, in conclusion, I believe that the Lord hid these prophetic patterns specifically in this particular book to underscore the fact that He will always protect His chosen people. It is not a coincidence that He has hidden these prophecies in this book for us to search out!

Now I challenge you to consider the implications... Today, can you think of any enemies of the Jews who have sworn their utter destruction? Who have sworn to wipe them off the map? Answer: Iran! Did you know that Iran is the only country in the entire world which is operated under Islam's Shariah law? Did you know that the country of Iran was formerly named Persia and is the very same land where Esther's history took place? Hmmm... I find that particularly interesting...

Is it possible that Amalek is alive and well in the world today? Could it be that the Lord still has some unfinshed business with Amalek? For answers to those questions, please read the next article in this series, The Book of Esther: Amalek and the Prince of Persia!
