The Book of Esther:
Amalek and
the Prince of Persia

The book of Esther is indeed a very fascinating book especially when you dig a little bit to search out what the Lord has hidden there! As previously discussed, there are a few hidden prophecies concerning the destruction of Israel's enemies which the Lord hid in this book. He chose this book as a His hiding place to underscore the fact that He will always protect His chosen people. Israel's greatest enemy through out history has been the Amalekites and their descendants and the Lord has vowed to completely destroy them. In fact, the Lord has sworn that the memory of Amalek is to be blotted out from under heaven and we are not to forget that fact!1 Therefore, in this discussion I will show how Amalek's lineage is still in existance and that the Lord does indeed have unfinished business with them!

**********************************

To begin, lets start at the beginning where Amalek is first mentioned in the Bible:

Genesis 36:15-16
15 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz, 16 Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah. (KJV)

Amalek was Esau's grandson and is the father of the tribe of Amalekites who lived in Edom! Now to understand why the Lord has such distaste for Amalek, please read the following passage:

Deuteronomy 25:17-19
17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. 19 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it. (KJV)

This passage from Deuteronomy is referring to the events which occurred back in Exodus 172 when Amalek attacked the Hebrews who were straggling behind at Rephidim. Just prior to the attack, Moses had produced water for the grumbling people by striking the rock at the place he later named Meribah. The Amalekites were the first nation to ever attack the Hebrews. Their attack was an affront to God because they knew about the ten plagues which He had struck Egypt with as well as the miracle of water from the rock at Meribah! In spite of their knowledge, they still disdained the power of God and attacked the newly liberated Hebrews from the rear. The attack was unprovoked and against people who posed no threat to them. In fact, some Jews even believe that the true reason for the attack was that they were against the revelation of God.3

It is also important to note what the Lord tells us in Deuteronomy 25:19 above. In this verse the Lord is telling the Hebrews that in the future, when they have settled the promised land, they are to utterly destroy the Amalekites and that they should not forget it. Unfortunately, they did forget it as the account of 1 Samuel 15 explains.4 As a result of this disobedience, not only was the kingdom taken from Saul and given to David, but also the events in the Book of Esther took place! If Saul hadn't listened to the people instead of God and hadn't spared Agag, Haman would never have been born!

Now to complete our picture of Amalek, please read the following which is the last time that Amalek is mentioned in the Bible:

Psalms 83:1-8
1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult:
and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people,
and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation;
that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent:
they are confederate against thee:
6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. (KJV)

In this scripture, Amalek is mentioned as being in an alliance with other enemies of Israel with the intent to "cut them off from being a nation" and "that the name of Israel may be no more". Doesn't that have a familiar ring to it? That verse is very telling, especially when you know who the descendants of this unholy alliance are!

To begin, "Edom was called Mount Seir and Idumea also. The ancient capital of Edom was Bozrah (Buseireh)."5 The ruins of this city are located in the southern part of modern day Jordan.6

According to Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia, the Ishmaelites are "the reputed ancestor of a group of Arabian tribes" and the "region occupied by these Ishmaelites included most of central and northern Arabia."7 Also, Muslims regard themselves as the descendants of Ishmael following Mohammed's example. Therefore, all Muslims not descended from any of the other mentioned tribes but who live in this area would be considered Ishmaelites.8

Ancient Moab was the home of the Moabites which are descended from Lot and was also located in modern day Jordan.9

The Hagarenes were "a people dwelling to the east of Palestine" and it is generally believed that they were named after Hagar.10

Gebal was a town in Phoenicia near Tyre.11

Ammon is the home of the Ammonites, another tribe descended from Lot which formed the Bedouin section of Moab.12

The Philistines occupied the southern coast of Canaan and the modern area of Gaza is located there.13 Gaza is currently populated exclusively by Palestinians.

Tyre is a Phoenician city located in southern Lebanon.14

Assur was an ancient city in Assyria and today we know the land of Assyria as the country of Syria.15

Looking at the two maps below, you will notice that Edom is now a part of modern day Israel and Jordan. Ammon and Moab are entirely within the borders of modern day Jordan. Gebal and Tyre are both Phoenician cities and are located in current day Lebanon. The Hagarenes and the Ishmaelites encompass all the Muslim and Arab people living within Israel and in the areas east of Israel, including the Palestinians.

Now, in case you didn't notice, I skipped over Amalek's descendants. So, to discover who they are we must now return to the Book of Esther. Haman and his ten sons are the very last Amalekites called by their given names in the entire Bible. We know this because Haman is called an Agagite and as previously discussed, Agagites are descended from Agag who was the King of the Amalekites and the sole survivor of that race of people.16 Since the Book of Esther takes place in the land of Persia, we know that the Amalekites/Agagites must have immigrated there. This is a very important fact and very prophetic when you know Persia's modern day history!

As many of you know, Persia is no longer the name of any country on a modern day map. That is because Persia changed its name to Iran in 1935 after coming under the racist influence of Nazi Germany! The name "Iran" is derived from the word "Aryan" and was chosen as this country's name to underscore the fact that the Persian people are descended from Aryan tribes!17 Also, as previously discussed in my article, The Book of Esther: A Nazi Connection?, the Nazi's knew they were the incarnation of Amalek for that period in time! Therefore, Iran is the incarnation of Amalek for our generation. Imagine this... Just like Christians are the spiritual offspring of Jesus, Iran is the spiritual offspring of Nazi Germany! Not only that, but as the Agagites must have immigrated there for Haman to be there, it is very possible that there are direct descendants of this tribe living in that area as many enemies of the Jews through out ancient Persia became afraid of Mordecai's power and joined the side of the Jews in an effort to save their lives!18 That is why it should come as no surprise to hear the words of Psalm 83:4 echoed in the words of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!

Now let's recap what I've been trying to explain. The unholy alliance spoken of in Psalm 83:1-8 above, is made up of Palestinians and Muslims living within and around Israel as well as people living in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iran. This should not be overlooked as it is very relevant to what is occurring in the world today!

As every one should be aware, Hamas is the ruling group within the Palestinian government and it is a terrorist regime that mostly operates out of Gaza and the West Bank. They are responsible for producing suicide bombers who have murdered hundreds of Jews and continue to this day to send rockets into Jewish civilian areas.

Although Jordan is not a terrorist country and currently has a treaty with Israel, many Palestinian refugees who support Hamas live in the region. In the past, the government of Jordan has had to crack down on Hamas activity within its borders19 and has even found caches of their weapons hidden within their country.20 Not only that, but on May 2, 2008 Hamas won 28 of the 50 seats of Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood Shura Council in a secret ballot. This is not good news as this may further destabilize the region as Hamas expands its influence outside the borders of Israel!21

If you are following current world news of the past week (the week of 5/13/08), you should be aware that the Syrian terrorist group, Hizbollah, which is primarily funded and directed by Iran, is currently waging a war in Lebanon to regain control of that country. Did you notice that I just named the last three parties of our unholy alliance in one sentence discussing current events? That should get your attention!

Getting back to our topic, the most important thing that we need to notice about this unholy alliance is this: These are all Muslim countries! As this unholy alliance is comprised of semitic peoples, they cannot be labelled as anti-semites. But, they definetly hold to an extreme racist ideology as it pertains to Judaism! They are not only racist, they are the sworn enemies of God's chosen people, the Jews and their religion encourages this!

Now, let's take a closer look at our generation's Amalek... Iran is the only country in the entire world which is operated under Islam's Shariah law and they are also the banker and the director of most terrorist activity within Israel. They are also the country which assembled the unholy alliance which we have been studying.22 Iran also has the largest population of Shiite Muslims in the entire world.23 The current president of Iran is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is a "Twelver" Shi'a. A follower of this religion believes that the Twelfth Imam, the Mahdi, is still alive and hidden away after 1400 years and will return before Judgement Day. They also believe that when Jesus returns He will fight alongside this Imam and that all of the Christians will convert to Islam! After they are finished fighting, according to this Islamic prophecy, Christ will go away and leave the Imam in charge! This Twelfth Imam supposedly can be contacted by throwing messages into any flowing underground current or a well. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has even made a treaty with this Imam and delivered it to him by throwing it down a well located within the Mosque of Jamkaran! Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes his god has chosen him to lead Iran/Amalek for a purpose. He told his government ministers, "we have not come [to power] for democracy. We are here to prepare the way for the emergence of the Hidden Imam..."24 This hidden Imam, the Mahdi, is Islam's messiah! Interestingly, they also believe that the rider of the white horse in Revelation 6:2 is this Mahdi!25

Let's analyze some of what I just explained above... First off, please note that Amalek's president has made a treaty with this Mahdi and delivered it to him via the well in Jamkaran. Obviously, this Imam could not possibly be alive after 1400 years inspite of the fact that President Ahmadinejad and his government claim that they get instructions from him directly.25 So, who is giving Amalek his instructions? According to the Bible, "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." 25 Therefore, the only possible answer is that a demonic principality is the one giving them their instructions!

The god of Islam is known as Allah and according to his followers, he is the same God that Christians and Jews worship. But, that is impossible! The Bible tells us in the Ten Commandments, "Thou shalt not kill"26 and yet Islam's book, the Koran, tells its adherents to commit jihad. The Ten Commandments also tell us "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour"26 but Islam has a sanctioned practice known as Al-Takeyya which makes lying and giving false testimony acceptable!27 In the Bible, God also tells us, "I am the LORD, I change not"28 and since the Bible predates the Koran, He could not have changed His mind about these fundamental instructions! So then, who is this god, Allah, who speaks contrary to God?

We can very easily discover who this god is by turning to our Bible. Please read the following verses:

Daniel 10:12-13
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.(KJV)

This passage from the Book of Daniel contains the words that an angel spoke to Daniel. Notice how the word "prince" is used in these verses as a title for both the demonic principality of Persia as well as the Archangel Michael. The prince of Persia is the demonic principality that rules over the land of Persia which is now Iran. He is the false god, Allah! The god of Amalek is the prince of Persia! Most importantly, do not forget that Amalek's government has not only made a treaty with the prince of Persia's messiah, but that they also claim to get their instructions directly from him! Could the prince of Persia's messiah be the Anti-Christ spoken of in our Bible?  Unfortunately, we can't know that right now...

"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 NKJV)

Are you ready for the days which are ahead? If not, you can take heart because the Lord has made a way for you to not only be ready but also joyfully watch as His plans are fulfilled. Are you interested? I hope so!
